Jude Law felt 'powerless' during divorce
October 8, 2004

Jude Law has compared his bitter divorce from Sadie Frost as an "inevitable car crash".

The handsome actor claims it was horrifying watching the events leading up to the split - including four-year-old daughter Iris accidentally swallowing an Ecstasy pill and Sadie's post-natal depression - caused his life to
spiral out of control.

Jude, who is now dating his sexy Alfie co-star Sienna Miller, revealed to Britain's Arena magazine: "It felt like being locked in a car and the handbrake suddenly releases and you can't stop the car rolling into an inevitable crash.

"You're powerless because once the decision has been made by whoever it is, there's nothing you can do. You suddenly realise that the life that you didn't ever really want to embark on is now a reality, a world where you have to pre-plan everything, get security to check stuff out."

Jude and Sadie have since agreed on joint custody of their three children, Rafferty, eight, Iris, four, and two-year-old Rudy, in a settlement which Jude describes as "very amicable".
