Erotic fetish DJ keeps the beat pumping
October 23, 2004

By Noor-Jehan Yoro Badat

With long blonde hair, pouting red lips and a lithe body, Portia Surreal easily commands attention in any room. When she walked in, men and women simply stared.

It wasn't just her tight black PVC pants, cropped top, high heels and the neck collar with a red heart that read "surreal pussy" hanging at the end of it. She exuded sexuality.

Openly embracing her sexuality, she said, was the essence of her chosen career - as an "erotic fetish DJ".

"I'm one of a kind in the world," she purred.

Surreal has been a professional DJ for two years and she started spinning discs in 1997. Before that she was a fetish performance artist.

Liking both worlds equally, she has incorporated her love for spinning, calling it "a passion", with the artistry of erotic presentation.

"I do a burlesque showgirl presentation."

Spinning to the music of tribal, house, progressive, electro-tech and many more, Surreal said each show was a unique presentation.

"We try to be extravagant, and request professional go-go dancers to interact on stage with me," she said.

Spanking, S&M, audience participation, playing topless and spanking her slave, Darius Fxxx, are some of the features in her shows . Fxxx is also her manager and her partner in life away from the stage.

Her signature costume is a corset with fishnet stockings, but other sassy outfits such as classic starlet, kitten, and French maid also grace her wardrobe.

Brought by Eurotribe to South Africa, Surreal will be performing at Carfax on Saturday night. The theme of her performance is "Sex on the Beach - fetish style".

"Why don't you come to the show?" she asked cheekily. "I might just spank you."
