Jack and the tiny folk
|
February 8, 2010
Scottish comedian Billy Connelly as King of Lilliput, British comic Catherine Tate as his queen, Emily Blunt as their daughter... and American funnyman Jack Black as the title character.
All will be seen in December in a new film version of Gulliver's Travels, directed by Rob Letterman and based on the novel. Black plays travel writer Lemuel Gulliver, who takes an assignment in Bermuda, but ends up on the island of Lilliput, where he towers over its tiny citizens.
Also among the cast are Amanda Peet, Chris O'Dowd and James Corden, while Jason Segal has been cast as Horatio.
The role of Horatio was originally intended for the hunky teen star of the Twilight films, Taylor Lautner, who was reportedly dropped after producers changed their minds and considered him too young.
Gulliver's Travels has also been co-produced by Jack Black.
