"Hey Guys! I'm not selling tickets for Jay Sean, I'm just an ordinary singer opening for him," posted 'R&B singer Mario Ogle on his Facebook wall. He and rapper Priston will be the supporting acts for UK R&B star Jay Sean during his three-city concert tour.
In 2008 the hunky Ogle made it to the Top 10 of the M-Net reality show High School Musical. Then last year, his debut album, Can't Stop Loving You, topped East Coast Radio's chart and was nominated in the Sama awards Best R&B/Neo-Soul album category.
"The album is a romantic album and is dedicated to any one who enjoys R&B music. Being nominated for a Sama was definitely a highlight in my music career. Now I am really blessed to be sharing the stage with Jay Sean at all three concerts," he said. in Cape Town shooting a music video for I Can't Stop Loving You with Durban model Chanel Grantham. He briefly explains what people can look forward to seeing when the video hits the TV screens:
"The music video is basically about the singer thinking about this girl and it ends with the two meeting each other at a house, which is situated in the highest street up the one side of Table Mountain. Filming was also done at the brand- new luxury hotel 16 on Orange, a vibey retro- looking vinyl shop in the Gardens area and Blouberg Beach. Cape Town is magnificent."
In between performing and studying for his BCom degree in marketing and management, he makes time to give back to the youth by travelling to schools and giving motivational talks.
"I visit schools all over KZN, sing for the kids, autograph their CDs and give them a talk about following their dreams and we just have fun. I believe that if you want to make a difference in any way, you need to start in your home town and that is what I am doing," he said.
