Creative Bird Photography

The good news: this isn't intimidatingly complex. Example: "I use autofocus virtually all the time in bird photography..." The bad news? Here, none, merely an explanation of which "mode" of autofocus is likely to do the best job.
The author is definitely into the "new" digital technology, and admits he'd never go back to film (even if, just occasionally, it would do a better job). That said, he suggests "new" as in the "latest" machinery isn't always the best, with manufacturers seeking to recoup development costs by rushing untried products to market so that you, the user, end up ironing out the bugs.
The final chapter, "Being more creative", offers some great ideas without being off the wall. Birds in their environment, in the abstract (stunning shot here of a King Penguin's neck), minimalist shots, and slow (or no) panning. - James Mitchell
