In online shopping, eBay's the big name internationally, but our own South African BidorBuy now claims more than 700 000 users and, of course, being on the 'Net, isn't restricted to locals.
Fear of the unknown keeps many from "shopless" shopping, and BidorBuy's founder and MD Andy Higgins caters here both for occasional users and those with the vision of developing an online business. Hints for the latter will save time and money: delivery confirmation to save you from the few who claim "it never arrived"; insurance (seller's responsibility); and getting on-sides at the post office (walk in with 100 parcels and watch the glum faces at the counter!).
