Mariah Carey demanded antiseptic hand wipes during a radio interview after being touched by fans outside the London studio. The curvy singer - who is renowned for her diva requests - stunned Capital FM DJ Johnny Vaughan when she interrupted his show to clean the "germs" from her hands.

Shocked Johnny asked: "What have you got there? Is it a demand?"
Mariah explained: "This is a demand. It is just really essential because I could get germs, because I've touched a lot of fans outside."

The sexy singer, who performed at the Live 8 show has earned herself a reputation as a demanding diva over the years. Earlier this year, Mariah left organisers of an awards ceremony fuming after turning up 90 minutes late because she broke a fingernail.

According to reports, the pop beauty threw a tantrum after snapping the nail and ordered her entourage to fix the problem before she would attend the Capital Radio Awards in London.

Despite being accompanied by a team stylists, make-up artists and
hairdressers on her trip Carey was unable to locate a manicurist.

Eventually staff managed to find a nail specialist to come to the lavish Bagloni hotel, where she was staying, to repair the damage and get Mariah to the ceremony, where she caused more outrage by arriving with 11 bodyguards and demanded they watch over her as she ate.

The same week, Mariah confirmed her diva status by getting staff at the same hotel to roll out a red carpet accompanied by lit candles for her arrival at 2am.
